You know that moment when something vibrant is caught in your peripheral view? Something that makes you think "fuck yeah that's an awesome outfit"?. That happened to me while photographing street style last year. The outfit I photographed was a lightweight suit, decorated with floral prints with a soft metallic finish. Joseph Lucido, the influencer donning the outfit, eagerly shared the brand label, Descendant of Thieves (cool name, right?)
Six months later, I stumbled upon the brand’s stand-alone store in the west village. Discovering its location was like finding an oasis in a desert full of dreary clothing stores. I found their collection refreshingly playful with the right amount of mood. It’s like Descendant of Thieves is the younger, mischievous sibling of All Saints.
Naturally I had the urge to photograph some of their pieces, especially the ones that amplify the meaning of “floral”, and casual suiting. For these garments in particular, the design team clearly had a lot of fun during the conceptualization process.
